Howard Steel was founded in 1974 as a small, three-person steel fabrication shop by Kenneth Howard Westlund, Jr. Over the next 40 years, Mr. Westlund grew the company to approximately 30 employees through his commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and trust.

In 2004, the second generation of the family joined the business, supporting the continued excellence established by Mr. Westlund. In 2011, family member Nicholas Gibbons became President, leading the company into its next generation of growth.

Howard Structural Steel is proud to remain a family-owned company and is an active member of Saginaw Valley State University’s Stevens Center for Family Business.
